She Rock She Rock

In 2022, we lost a member of the She Rock community.  Ilyana Nomeland passed away unexpectedly last summer.  Ilyana loved music! Passionate and fearless, she was a fixture at countless local and national concerts and festivals.  She was also a supporter of She Rock jams, Rock N' Roulette, and most passionately, GRRR.  Supporting the next generation of female rockers was very important to her.

After loving music her whole life, Ilyana began her journey as a musician, teaching herself to play drums shortly before her death.

In memory of Ilyana, the beat goes on. Her beloved drum kit was donated to She Rock She Rock by her father, Tim Nomeland, and was used at Girls Rock Camp this past summer by our next wave of rockers!

Ilyana's family and friends have created a scholarship fund in her memory.  The Ilyana Nomeland Scholarship Fund will provide tuition assistance to teach and inspire our next generation of female musicians, and will be awarded each summer in Ilyana's name.   Please click the link if you would like to make a donation in support of this scholarship fund, and thank you for keeping Ilyana's passion alive!
