2016 Camp Workshop Proposals
She Rock She Rock is now requesting workshop proposals for our 2016 camp seasons! We need folks to create and lead workshops for our Girls Rock n Roll Retreat and Sisters of Sound Initiative. You do not have to be a teacher to submit a workshop proposal. However, we consider this a mentor position so it is only open to folks who identify as female, gender nonconforming and trans.
We will be taking workshop proposals until April 29th. At that time, a group of folks will read over all the proposals and select which workshops seem most appropriate/doable/awesome. You will hear back about your workshop proposal by May 13th.

DETAILS ON WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
Workshops can come in a variety of formats. Topics can range from the ‘History of Women in Music’ to ‘How to get the best tone of out your amp’ to a discussion about gender. We are excited to hear what you think should be added to the camp and are open to your brilliant ideas!
Workshops should be
**interactive or discussion based
**1 hr to 1.5 hrs long
**inclusive in their language
**empowering for the participants
Please submit a detailed proposal. A team of five SR2 teachers and staff members will read through all proposals. After reading through the proposals, they will decide on the workshops and will contact you by May 13th. If your proposal is chosen, the days of your workshop will be finalized. You will be expected to meet with the team 1-2 times after your proposal is selected to keep our staff up to date!
You can submit multiple proposals for different camps or the same camp. Workshops must be led by a group of two or more people. It's okay to submit a proposal by yourself as we can either pair you with someone who submitted a similar workshop proposal or we can find someone to join you!
You will be expected to be at camp during the workshop time slot. Time slots are posted below and you are given the opportunity to choose which time slot works better for you. Please note that if you are submitting a proposal for GRRR, you have to be there for all three weeks. (For example, you would lead your workshop each Tuesday, July 12, 19 & 26 from 12:30-3:30). Additionally, for GRRR workshops, you’d be presenting the same workshop twice in one day to two different age groups. So the workshop should be the same topic and idea but might be presented slightly different to accommodate the different age groups.
Each workshop team will receive a stipend. Please note that workshops can take anywhere from 3-10 hours to prep.
Time slots for workshops
Tuesdays, July 12, 19 and 26: 12:30-3:30 (1.5 hr workshop presented twice to two different age groups)
Wednesday, July 13, 20, and 27: 12:30-3:30 (1.5 hr workshop presented twice to two different age groups)
